Beginner Brewing Class

Duration: 1.5 – 2 hours

Recommended Prerequisites: This course is great for those interested in home brewing with a range of no prior knowledge to those who have completed one or two brew days.

Description: This class will focus on the HOW TO of home brewing. The class will be a demonstration of all of the techniques you will perform to brew an extract batch of beer at home. The class will cover brewing procedure. There will be a demonstration of how to use the various required tools and equipment. You will learn some tips and tricks to help with the brewing process.

Beginner Brewing Theory

Duration: 1 hour

Recommended Prerequisites: Beginner Brewing Class or a basic knowledge of home brewing, having completed a few brew days

Description: This class will be a discussion of the background of home brewing at a basic level. It will provide a more in-depth analysis of the various brewing ingredients. The fermentation process will be discussed. A peek into the biology and chemistry of brewing will be provided.

Introduction to All-Grain

Duration: 1.5 – 2 hours

Recommended Prerequisites: Experience brewing extract batches of beer

Description: Are you ready to make the jump to all-grain brewing? This course is designed to give you the knowledge to go from brewing extract batches to brewing all-grain batches. The demonstration will start from the beginning of the mashing process and will conclude where the boil would start (the part you are already familiar with from extract brewing).

Stir Plate Building Class

Duration: 2 hours

Recommended Prerequisites: Ability to use common tools

Description: In this class you will be provided all of the materials and instructions you need to build your own stir plate.

What is the advantage of having a stir plate?

Stir plates are used for yeast starters. The stir plate helps you quickly increase the cell count of yeast before pitching into wort. Pitching strong healthy yeast helps guarantee the quality of your beer.

In addition to building a stir plate there will also be a short discussion of yeast starters.

Keg/Carboy Washer Building Class

Duration: 2 hours

Recommended Prerequisites: Ability to use common tools

Description: In this class you will be building a device to clean kegs and carboys. All necessary materials and instructions will be provided.
